Compare the data layer

A Hunter alternative when you need contact data, not another outreach suite

Written by Leadscart · Reviewed · Monthly USD pricing

Leadscart Starter

$29/ month

2,000 credits

1 credit per person, only when a verified email or a phone number comes back. Search and export spend no credits.

REST + MCP included. 500 successful reveals/day, 2,000 export rows/day. Paid credits expire monthly.

If you already have a cold email tool, you may be looking for a Hunter alternative that focuses on the data step. Leadscart offers contact search, CSV enrichment, and email/phone reveals without a built-in sending suite.

But compare the task, not just the input field. Both products support names with company domains and LinkedIn identifiers for person lookup. Hunter also has Domain Search, Discover, Sequences, and a standalone Email Verifier. See its Email Finder and pricing.

Choose Leadscart if those inputs fit and you want a lower monthly starting outlay for person reveals. Keep Hunter if its domain workflow, standalone verification, or sending features do work you would otherwise have to replace.

Hunter figures and credit rules come from its pricing page, inputs from its Email Finder API page, and MCP access from its official MCP page. Leadscart's current plans and limits are on pricing.

A worked example: 2,000 successful person-email finds

Assume both tools return the email for each of 2,000 known target people. You already have the required inputs, use monthly subscriptions, and make no separate verification or paid discovery calls. This is a person-finding task, not Bulk Domain Search.

A worked example: 2,000 successful person-email finds
Monthly planSubscription priceCredits usedIncluded credits
Leadscart Starter$292,0002,000
Hunter all-in-one Starter$492,0002,000

The named plan-price difference is $20 per month. At full allowance use, the allocation-based prices are $0.0145 per Leadscart credit and $0.0245 per Hunter credit. Actual cost per usable contact depends on the returned data and how much of your subscription you use.

We do not add 0.5 verification credits to every Hunter find. Hunter advertises auto-verified lead data; standalone Email Verifier calls are a separate task.1

Leadscart Starter caps successful reveals at 500 per day, so 2,000 successful reveals require at least four daily allowance windows. Request limits also apply. The monthly allowance is not a promise that the whole list finishes in one afternoon.

Hunter also offers a separate API-only Data Platform with customizable bulk purchases.1 This comparison is not a claim that its all-in-one Starter plan is the cheapest possible way to buy Hunter data.

Three reasons to consider Leadscart

1. Your sending tool is already paid for

Leadscart's Starter monthly bill is lower than the named Hunter all-in-one Starter subscription. If your only missing step is enriching selected people, the additional outreach bundle may not be what you need.

Compare your actual stack cost. If Hunter replaces a separate sequencer or another tool, its larger subscription can still be the better purchase. Lower entry pricing alone does not decide it.

2. You want one reveal unit for email and phone

When Leadscart finds both fields for a person, they cost the same one credit as a qualifying single-field result. A phone-only result still costs one credit. No verified email and no phone means no charge.

Phones are not guaranteed and may be a mobile, direct dial, or company line. Do not budget every email match as a mobile match. Check do-not-call rules before using a returned number.

3. You want to review people before unlocking details

Search contacts by supported filters, inspect the people, save the useful ones, then spend credits on reveals. Searching and exporting do not consume credits. Daily export/reveal limits and request limits still apply.

REST and MCP use that same credit pool. This is useful if your app, automation, and AI assistant should work against one balance. It is not an MCP exclusivity claim: Hunter also provides official MCP access on Free.3

When Hunter is the better choice

You want its domain-centered finding tools. Hunter can find a specific person from name/domain or a LinkedIn handle, and its broader domain tools support a different discovery task.2 Leadscart also accepts name/domain or LinkedIn inputs, so those fields alone do not decide the choice.

You need to verify addresses you already possess. Hunter's standalone Email Verifier is a different service from revealing an address for a person. Leadscart is not an arbitrary-address validation product. Comparing “0.5 versus one credit” would mix different tasks.

You want contacts across company domains. Bulk Domain Search's one-credit-per-up-to-ten-found- emails unit can change the economics. A person-by-person comparison does not establish which provider costs less for that task.1

You use Sequences and its other platform features. Hunter is not just an email lookup API. Discover, lead management, integrations, and outreach can reduce the number of separate tools your team needs.

Hunter also provides 50 free credits every month. Leadscart's 25-credit grant happens once. If you only need occasional lookups, include that recurring free allowance in your decision.

What a Leadscart enrichment workflow looks like

Suppose your target list contains LinkedIn URLs or names plus company domains. Map those CSV columns; a website or work email can also supply the domain. A company name alone is not sufficient for the name/domain strategy. Before the job runs, Leadscart shows the maximum one-credit-per-row spend. Unidentifiable rows are skipped.

Inspect the returned details and source verification dates, then export the result and join it back to your sending workflow. Do not assume that a verification date guarantees an email will deliver at a later date.

For contacts found inside Leadscart, search → save to a List → reveal → export. An assistant uses the same pattern through people_search, List tools, email_find, and list_export. The reveal tool handles up to 25 people or existing List lead IDs in total per call. A List is optional when you send people directly by LinkedIn URL or name/company domain.

See the REST and MCP docs for the actual tool inputs. A sample workflow is not a promise that every target person will resolve or that every result will have both contact fields.

Before switching from Hunter

  1. Separate your usage into person finding, domain finding, verification, and sending.
  2. Check that your list has LinkedIn URLs or names with a usable company domain.
  3. Test contacts from the industries and countries you really target.
  4. Compare usable returned fields, credits, daily limits, and the whole stack bill.
  5. Keep Hunter features you still need, especially verification or Sequences, rather than assuming one data tool replaces them.

If you are comparing more than two products, use the Apollo alternatives guide to separate data tools from outreach bundles. For another contact-reveal model, see the Prospeo comparison.
